Jan – “Finding God on Facebook”

If you’re on Facebook you’ve probably reconnected to so many people from your pasts and had a blast doing it! Social networking has been around for years but now through the internet within seconds we can be connected to old friends and sometimes new ones.  How about getting connected to Jesus, everyone needs to…whether you’re addicted to Facebook or think it’s a total time waster get networking with Jesus.  Let’s head to the search page and try to find Jesus on Facebook.

March – “Fact or Fiction?”

These are some of the hottest topics the church has to defend today. Foundational beliefs which we have let slip over time and forgotten the answers to! Is God really too difficult to believe in or is the bible that way out it’s not true? Is the creation story so unbelievable that we’re willing to pin our hopes on something else that has no substance or evidence? Is it so difficult to accept as fact that Jesus lived and died and was still the Son of God? Journey with us through this series and see if you can formulate a simple way to present an answer to these topics using the facts and tests and data presented in the messages.

May – “Assorted”

  • Easter Sunday
  • Telling Friends
  • ANZAC Day
  • Transformers
  • Mother’s Day
  • Giving All Year Round

June - July – “7 Deadly Sins”

They sound deadly just as words; lust, envy, greed, sloth, pride, wrath and gluttony. Are they really deadly…are they still deadly? Well guess what, the seven deadly sins are alive and well, and yes they are still deadly. This list according to the worlds standards mean party time! But we can see from the sad stories around us and from the proof of our own lives that the way of sin is deadly. When we choose to live God’s way we discover that His path leads to real life.

Aug - One Month To Live

Last I checked, the mortality rate hadn’t changed…we’re all going to die one day, we just don’t know when! If we knew we only had one month to live how would we live it? What would we do differently? If it was to love someone more deeply how come we’re not doing it now. If it is to say, “I’m sorry” or “I forgive you” how come we haven’t already said it? This isn’t a series about death and dying but instead about life and living. How does God call us to live our lives? Check out the series and live life to the full that way God intended us to live it.

Sermon Series 2009

Feb – In Living Colour

That’s the life of Joseph…he wasn’t called to simply live, he faced the unexpected and discovered that by relying on God he had the ability to ‘lean in’ under pressure and to stand after being knocked down. He knew what it was to live with resilience. He had a colourful life but every step and every situation he trusted and bounced back. That’s resilience.

March – Size Matters

How Big Is Your God? Just about everything we use today has been reduced in size and we’ve become accustomed to relying on our own strength and diminishing the size and ability of God. He’s not always the first one we turn to for help or the first we see in our triumph. We have to stop reducing God and give Him the rightful acknowledgement because size does matter!

April – Cross Words from Jesus

Easter: Jesus hung on the cross for hours and during that time uttered some amazing words. They were short they were personal and they were to us.

May – Just Walk Across The Room

What if walking a few steps could change someone forever? Well, God works in mysterious ways – that’s for sure! Walk across the room is all about learning to recognize and respond to inward God-nudges which invite us to be used by God. In simple but profound ways, God hopes you’ll be moved in order to make an eternal difference in the lives of those around you. Pointing people to faith is something each of us can do - and it can start on the heels of a simple walk across the room. Are you ready for God to move you?

June – Act Your Wage

Money. Money, money! We sure do need it to make end meet but when is enough really enough? There’s a huge problem in our western society today called greed and it undermines so much of who we are. How can we live within our means and still be a blessing to others?

July – Relationships

The friendships and families God puts in our lives can be a huge blessing...But let's be honest - sometimes they can be a burden. Whether it's with a spouse, a child, a friend or a co-worker, we're all involved in important relationships that require a lot of us - like patience, hard work and love. Whether your relationships right now have you loving life or ready to give up on it, God has so much to teach us about living with and for the people He has put in our lives. So here WE go. Let's open the Scriptures to see where God's heart takes us because WE all need God's help in the relationships WE care about.

 Aug – Esther

We may struggle to see God or even hear His voice, but His involvement in our lives is obvious and his invisible hand provides, protects and guides us in life.

Sept – Oct Hanging With God in the Hood

Life happens in the neighbourhood, in our homes and wherever we hang out with our people. Whatever phase of life you’re in, whatever issues you are facing these days – that’s where God is at work. God is on the streets right where you live, right now; in the hood…the neighbourhood, parenthood, fatherhood, motherhood and even childhood. God meets us there.

Nov – Are You Serious?

Sometimes Jesus said the strangest things. Sometimes very unusual things like, "Gouge your eye out…hate your mum and dad…eat my flesh…sell everything ands follow me!" Did He really say that? What about, "You must be perfect?" In this message series we'll dig into these unusual phrases of Jesus - the hard sayings that make you respond by saying, "Are you serious?!" Studying Jesus' words will help us understand and apply them, because that's what you do if you take Jesus seriously.

Dec – Tis the Season

It’s a season of presents, lights, decorations and even Jesus, but at the foundation of this season is the fact that God was generous to us and desires us to be generous with one another.
